Faraway

Short film | Editor

Faraway is a short film written and directed by Max Limbu and edited by Sustika Limbu, with cinematography by Nakul Sunuwar. Described by its director as a romantic drama set in Nepal, the project forms part of Sustika’s continuing collaboration with Max Limbu across short filmmaking and artist moving-image practice. Her work on the film included reviewing the production rushes and becoming closely familiar with the recorded material as part of the editing process.

Released in 2025, Faraway was presented through an invited screening at University College London and a gala premiere at Eden Amphitheater in Kathmandu. These presentations brought the film to audiences in both the UK and Nepal, reflecting the geographical contexts across which the filmmakers work. The project sits alongside Sustika’s documentary editing and collaborative moving-image work, extending this practice into a narrative short-film production.
