Anne Preston

With over 20 years in higher education, I specialize in interdisciplinary learning, curriculum innovation, and student engagement. My leadership at UCL East has driven large-scale curriculum development, including the approval of 60 interdisciplinary programmes and the design of UCL’s first place-based postgraduate widening participation scheme. Committed to Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) and community-based learning and teaching and widening participation, I collaborate across disciplines to embed sustainability and inclusivity in teaching. Currently, I lead a work-based learning module for UCL's flagship undergraduate BA Media programme. My work has influenced institutional policies, national publications, and international partnerships. I also lead cross-institutional initiatives that connect academia with industry, fostering entrepreneurship and social impact. Through mentoring, research, and public engagement, I champion educational innovation that empowers both students and staff.
