
Alexander MacKinnon
Technical Teaching Staff - Games & Interactive Experiences
Alexander is a multidisciplinary artist and 3D designer based in London. His work spans CGI, moving image, game engines, and installation. His practice experiments with tropes and motifs drawn from video game culture and horror, seeking beauty in the grotesque while exploring dissociation and depression in postmodern media.
His selected exhibitions include the group shows Gloves to Bouquet at Ettrick Sites, RCA Stage Space, London (2025), and Strata+0.1 at Spanners, London (2024), alongside the duo exhibition A Phantasmagoria Kurse at Stallmann Gallery, Berlin (2023). In 2022, his work was presented in the group exhibitions Spectacle for Later at Rio Cinema, London, and Path-Traced Fog at Somers Gallery, London, as well as the duo exhibition Mono No Aware at Stallmann Gallery, Berlin.
Earlier exhibitions include Shivers, the Computational Arts MA/MFA Degree Show at Goldsmiths, London (2021); Show One: Art at Central Saint Martins, London (2019); and the group exhibition Coding Identity at The Photographer’s Gallery, London (2018). His workshop experience includes Come Together: Art and Politics in a Climate of Unrest at Tate Modern, London (2019).
Alexander studied for an MFA in Computational Arts at Goldsmiths, London (2020–2022), following a BA in Fine Art at Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London (2016–2019).
