Jonas McIlwain

Jonas McIlwain (b. 1995, London, UK), who works under the artist name Jonas Pequeno, is a London-based multidisciplinary artist and graduate of Central Saint Martins. His practice explores technological mediation, language and absurdism across installation, film and sound.

Recent exhibitions, performances and screenings include STRATA 5, London (2025); STRATA 4, London (2025); Ettrick Sites, London (2025); STRATA+0.01 (2024); A Phantasmagoria Kurse, Stallmann Gallery, Berlin (2024); and MONO NO AWARE, Stallmann Gallery, Berlin (2022). An award-winning visual artist, Pequeno has exhibited internationally, including at major institutions. He is the founder and co-curator of STRATA, a label focused on promoting experimental audiovisual events.
